This place is the perfect description of my first love. She was boring and silent during daytime but became a glamorous predator at nighttime. Dont waste your time during the sunny hours. Aim for the night when the illumination gives you a perfect selfiebackground!
MoreIt's nice, but really short. I would say it's not worth a detour
Super cool location right next to the station
Very cute after visiting the bamboo forest.
This place is unique but you must rent the kimono first to get a beautiful photo
Small place. Better come at night time
A fun thing to see if you are on your way to somewhere else, like the Arashiyama Monkey Park or the Bamboo Forest, but absolutely not something you should make an exclusive trip for. The dragon pond was particularly fun. Dip your hands in the water for "warmth to spread through you". Also it's refreshing after a long walk.
MoreIt was cute and short. Still try to see.
Awesome Kimono forest nearby at Arashiyama Station. It is a must visit for photographs..
MoreNicer at night than in the day...
Very pretty walk after dark - was a nice way to end our busy day!The walk to get there from JR is a bit dark and foreboding, but overall very nice!
MoreThere is a lot of people so it's difficult to take pictures, but it is still a nice little stroll close to all of the touristic spots.
MoreNot what it seems on photos. Good art at wrong place. They should move it probably near the Bamboo forest.
MoreI loved this place! We went here in AM when we went to the Bamboo forest, and on the PM when we tried to grab Macha Prince.. lol both experience were fun! Its colorful both day and night
MoreA small station that is filled with pillars of kimono.
This is not an attraction in my opinion. It is only a nice decoration for a station. I expected something that looks like a kimono and not only different kind of fabric in a small advertising pillar thing.
MoreQuaint area of the Arashiyama station with varied designs of kimonos set on poles. Cute and small
MoreNice short walk with different types of kimono to view. We went in the am maybe night view is better? It's next to the arashimaya station with some small shops n toilets.
MoreInteresting spot to walk and see the different designs of kimonos.
Picturesque spot near a train station. Relatively small so can walk around in 5mins easily. Worth checking out if you are passing nearby to other attractions.
MoreA very beautiful place. Lots of tubes with silk fabrics.
Quite small, but a pretty sight while you wait for your train.
I have a very wonderful place to get away from the very large tourist crowds you're not overrun by buses of Vietnamese Chinese and Europeans and other Americans you get to mingle and intermix with traditional home Japanese that are extremely polite and friendly and love to have a conversation with you
MoreInteresting if you happen to be there. Wouldn't go much out of my way to see it. Probably used to be more impressive but colors seem faded now.
MoreThe area is located directly next to a train station. There are some colourful patterns and an interesting waterfall.
MoreIt's a nice little rest stop if your in the area but don't go out of your way. It's a small quaint set up with lit up towers wrapped with kimono fabric and also has a fountain with a cool dragon ball.
MoreI loved the kimono forest - beautiful fabrics for all to see.
Well worth visiting at night when the path is lit up! The perfect way to end your visit to the Arashiyama bamboo forest. They use kimono fabric in the lights, giving you a chance to examine a lot of different patterns. It's also at a Subway station, so you can hop on a train when you're ready to leave. Definitely recommend!
MoreIt's very hot on July but worth a walk through. I liked the fushinari and Nara Park more than this though
MoreNice place to wear kimono and take picture with kimono patterned pillars and trains
MoreGreat place to go take some photos, especially at night. Located at a train stop, there are lots of cute shops to have dessert and/or a beverage.
MoreIt's a short walk, maybe 5 minutes for the entire thing but it's next to the bamboo forest and monkey park so it's close to a couple other things. It's kind of cool so worth walking through.
MoreThe Kimono Forest is a Beautiful place to go during the sunset. It's near the train station, so you can go, take many photos and then take the cute trainway to the center of Tokyo. There are many different styles of Kimonos waiting for you to discover their amazing patterns and hidden creatures.Would you be able to identify the most rare patterns?
MoreThe night view is worth seeing! Subtle turns in the path are fun. However, be aware that lights were turned off at 21:00 on a Thursday.
MoreNot many kimonos and very crowded! But it's worth a look because it's near the bamboo forest and monkey park.
MoreNice relaxed place for photo taking. Nothing much. Just man made poles with kimono clothe.
MoreWent in the late afternoon so I could see the installation in daylight and after sunset. It's a sight to behold either way but I like it better at night. It's quite a creative and really interesting way of showcasing traditional fabric - For me, definitely a lot more interesting than museum displays. I'm surprised there weren't many visitors when I went there especially since it is only a short distance from the Bamboo Grove. Hidden beneath some of the pillars is the Pond of the Dragon - the guardian of the station.
MoreVery cool place for a stop by, some good shots can be taken here, especially in the dark when it all gets lit up. It's actually a very well decorated tram station
MoreLovely way to showcase the kimonos up for rental.
Very cool seeing the different patterns, Worked into the train station aswell so you can see it the moment you arrive! At night its a different experience with it all lit up and colourful. Lovely fountain with some beautiful craftsmanship on it.
